Publication Standards

Mission

The mission of Scienties is to be a reference channel for the dissemination of high-quality research, promoting academic excellence. To empower scientific voices by publishing high-quality content that connects research, innovation, and society—while fairly compensating authors and promoting a sustainable, inclusive model for academic communication.

Our Core Values

Equity
We believe in fair recognition and compensation for intellectual and creative contributions, building an inclusive and trustable foundation for all collaborators.

Our editorial board ensures that decisions are based solely on academic merit, scientific quality, and ethical standards, without discrimination or undue influence. Editors are responsible for managing submissions objectively and resolving ethical concerns fairly.

Integrity
We uphold rigorous editorial standards, ethical practices, and transparent peer review, ensuring a trustable and accountable publishing environment. We are committed to publishing research that is conducted and reported with honesty, accuracy, and transparency. Scientific findings must be presented clearly, without fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data.

Innovation
We champion innovative formats, interdisciplinary dialogue, and bold experimentation in science communication, driving fresh perspectives and progress.

Impact
We prioritize research with social relevance, public engagement, and transformative potential, supporting innovative and efficient solutions to real-world challenges.

Objectives

Our main objective is to publish high-quality medical research that combines scientific rigor with meaningful clinical relevance. We actively promote collaboration between national and international researchers, encouraging a diverse and interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge. By supporting evidence-based practice, we aim to contribute to the advancement of clinical science and improved healthcare outcomes. Through transparent, efficient, and trustworthy editorial processes, we strive to foster credibility and confidence among authors, reviewers, and readers alike.

Editorial and Ethical Policies

In alignment with international best practices, Scienties follows the editorial policies and ethical standards set by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These frameworks guide every stage of the editorial and publication process, ensuring transparency, integrity, and accountability in all our operations.

Key Ethical Principles

Authorship Criteria

All authors must meet the authorship criteria defined by the ICMJE. Contributions must be substantial and clearly documented, ensuring fair attribution of work.

Conflict of Interest

All authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation or assessment of a manuscript. Authors must submit a completed ICMJE Disclosure Form, and any declared conflicts will be published alongside the article. Editors and reviewers must recuse themselves from handling or reviewing work where a conflict exists.

Funding and Sponsorship

All financial support must be transparently disclosed in the manuscript. Authors must state the name of the funding agency and describe the role of the sponsor in study design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, writing, and submission. If the funder had no role, this must be explicitly stated.

Research Ethics

Research involving human participants must comply with ethical standards outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki. Authors are required to state that approval was obtained from a recognized Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee, and that informed consent was obtained from all participants. Manuscripts that fail to meet basic ethical standards will not be considered for publication.

All clinical trials must be prospectively registered in a publicly accessible trial registry (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov), and the registration number must be included in the manuscript. Failure to register a trial prior to patient enrollment is considered a breach of publication ethics.

Misconduct, Corrections and Retractions

Scienties take allegations of research or publication misconduct seriously. In cases of suspected misconduct — including plagiarism, data manipulation, authorship fraud, or unethical research — the editorial team will follow COPE procedures to investigate.

When errors or inaccuracies are identified after publication, the journal will issue appropriate corrections, errata, or retractions, depending on the nature and severity of the issue. Retractions are reserved for cases of proven misconduct or invalid results. All corrections and retractions are made in accordance with ICMJE and international publishing standards of COPE, and are clearly labeled and linked to the original article.

Transparent and Responsible Publication

We require that all submitted work is original and that data are reported honestly and thoroughly. Plagiarism, duplicate publication, and selective reporting are strictly prohibited. Authors must follow appropriate reporting guidelines according to the manuscript type (e.g., CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, CARE), and provide access to underlying data when applicable.

Copyright and Authors Rights

Upon acceptance of your article, you grant Scienties the right to manage and publish your work, ensuring its availability to the scientific community and the journal’s readership. Specifically, as an author, you authorize the journal to:

Publish, archive, and make your article freely available online, ensuring maximum visibility and dissemination of knowledge;

Serve as a host for your work as it appears in the journal;

Take appropriate action in cases of plagiarism or misuse of your article;

Open Access Articles – Creative Commons License (CC BY 4.0)
For articles published in open access, the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) applies, with the following conditions:

BY (Attribution): requires that the author is credited.

People may read and share the article, provided they give credit to the author, but they cannot sell or alter the content.

This license allows anyone to copy, distribute, adapt, and build upon the work, even for commercial purposes, as long as proper credit is given to the author(s). It is the most widely used open access license and is strongly recommended for international visibility and indexing in databases such as DOAJ, Scopus, and PubMed Central.

ORCID

As part of our commitment to transparency, academic integrity and visibility of scientific production, Scienties requires all authors to submit their article with a valid ORCID iD and recommends the same for co-authors.

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a unique digital identifier that unequivocally distinguishes each researcher, ensuring the correct recognition of their authorship, affiliations and scientific contributions, even in international contexts. Further information and registration details are available at ORCID.org

Policy

Manuscripts must be written in English and must be original works that have not been published previously, in whole or in part. By submitting to Scienties, the authors confirm that the content is unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere.

The accuracy of the information and the opinions expressed are the sole responsibility of the author(s).
